Kidney racket in Hiranandani Hospital Powai came to light last month at the hospital, Mumbai police have arrested five people including the CEO.
All were arrested in connection with kidney sale racket officials said.
All the five people who were also reputed doctors were arrested as they were accused of being involved in illegal trade and sale of kidneys.
Powai police will present them to the court on Wednesday, an official spokesperson for Hiranandani Group told that an internal probe is being conducted and declined further comments till the investigation was completed.
Till now 15 people have been arrested in the case and the investigation will continue to see how much more are involved in this case.
This news was a shock for everyone in Mumbai and a team by Maharashtra Directorate of health service is being set up to investigate the case further.
The racket was exposed on July 14 when a social worker and some activist including some political member stopped a kidney transplant midway in which the donor and recipient were found to be fake.
Brijendra Bisen created false documents and is being also arrested before nine years in the biggest kidney racket.
The accused have been charged under Section 12 and 21 of the Transplantation of Human Organ Act, 1994.
