26-11 attack was carried out by Pakistan-based terror group says it's ex-national security adviser Mahmud Ali Durrani.

He also said that is the classic example of cross-border terrorism. He also said that the Pakistan government had no role in the attack done.

Durrani was Pakistan's NSA during the Mumbai terror attacks which claimed more than 160 people's life including locals and foreigners.

Durrani was sacked from the post of national security adviser for confirming Mumbai attacker Ajmal Kasab’s Pakistani nationality to the media.

The mastermind of the terror attack is believed to be Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi.

India holds Hafiz Saeed, co-founder of the LeT and chief of Jamaat-ud-Da'wah, responsible for the 26/11 terror attacks.

"I can say with authority no one on the ISI — Pakistan's intelligence agency — or establishment was aware of the plan to strike in India. I had also told the US, that they are free to go after the Haqqani network inside Pakistan. We may have made some noise, but deep down we will be happy if they were to be eliminated by the USA," he said.

Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar, who also addressed the conference, called for a coordinated global action against terrorism. Such action, the Defence Minister said, should be initiated from Asia.

India has asked Pakistan to re-investigate the 2008 Mumbai attacks case and put on trial Saeed, who is currently under house arrest in Lahore under the anti-terrorism law.
