The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Thursday said it would issue new Rs.100 banknotes soon. The new banknote of Rs.100 will be in the base color of lavender.

On the back side of the note there will be a photo of Rani Ki Vav which is a heritage site located in the state of Gujarat.

Also, the older note will also continue to be legal tender. The dimensions of the new Rs. 100 banknote will be 66 mm x 142 mm.

The printing of the new notes will slowly and gradually increase. The design of the new note have geometric patterns all over in combination with the color of the note.

The new note also has a logo of swatch bharat on the back side of the note.

It also has a Ashoka pillar amblem on the right. It also has Guarantee Clause, Governor Urjit Patel's signature with Promise Clause and RBI emblem towards right of Mahatma Gandhi portrait.

And the Year of printing is on the left side of the note.
